Drive up and park your car on the road or visit any of the nature resorts and hotels in the lake’s vicinity. Though beware, the lake is said to have over 250 crocodiles!

As many as 194 crocodiles have been moved from a lake near the Statue of Unity in the District of Narmada, Gujarat, in the past two years for the safety of tourists who come to enjoy boarding there, officials said on Sundays.

Lake Panchmuli, located near the 182-meter Sardar Vallabhbhai High Statue in Kevadia, the main tourist attraction, has a large number of crocodiles that have a threat to visitors, they said.

"In 2019-20 [October-March], we relocated 143 crocodiles. In 2020-21, 51 other crocodiles shifted to two rescue centers in Gandhinagar and Godhra," said Vocational Forest Kevadia Vikramsinh Gabhania. There are still many crocodiles on the lake, he added.

Lake Panchmuli, also known as 'Dyke-3' from Sardar Sarovar Dam, was developed for tourists visiting the statue of the unity. Therefore, the authorities decided to move the crocodile from the body of the water to prevent the danger for tourists, the official said.
